The Penticton Western News publishes every Wednesday and Friday with a total circulation of more than 22,000 copies.
It's come a long way since its humble origins more than 40 years ago in a small office on Westminster Ave. in downtown Penticton, when a group of teachers created a vehicle for local advertising. While people and businesses still buy and sell goods and services through the Western News, its editorial staff are now fixtures at local council and school board meetings, and festivals, sports and cultural events throughout the South Okanagan.
The Western News joined Black Press in 2003.
