The Canadian Mental Health Association – South Okanagan Similkameen branch received a donation from Parker’s Chrysler of a seven-passenger Dodge Caravan.

“The van also allows us to purchase groceries for the meal’s program at Unity Clubhouse. The meals program operates seven days per week and allows members to purchase nutritious lunches for $2 and dinners for $4,” said executive director Leah Schulting.

The van has already been put to good use taking the men’s group from Unity Clubhouse on an outing to Tickleberry’s in Okanagan Falls. The van also transports members to various activities in the community such as trips to the Summerland garden, to watch a Penticton Vees game, roller derby and bowling.

“We are so thankful to Parker’s for their generosity. The van enables us to offer group activities for mental health clients, and take them to places they might otherwise not have the opportunity to visit,” said Schulting.
