More Heart tickets released for Penticton show

Due to ticket demand for the Heart concert in Penticton on March 9 more tickets have been released.

Tickets will be released at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27 for the concert that kicks off the iconic rock duo's Canadian tour.

California born, Seattle bred sisters Nancy and Ann Wilson are behind some of rocks most recognizable hits including Barracuda, Crazy on You and Magic Man. The duo were among the 2013 inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame (April 18 in Los Angeles) along with blues guitarist Albert King, disco royal Donna Summer, hip hop artists Public Enemy, singer-songwriter Randy Newman and rock band Rush.

Heart performed Stairway To Heaven (available on iTunes) at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors for the three surviving members of Led Zeppelin who were this years inductees.

"It was our honour to be asked to do it before an audience like that. My main goal though was to please Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones … especially Plant, since all these many years he has taught me so much about singing from the soul and has given me such pleasure in his lyrics," said Ann Wilson. "What a high that night was. Never to be forgotten."

Heart is playing the SOEC with special guest Simon Townshend. He comes from a lineage of one of British music's most famous families. Simon is the baby brother of The Who legend Pete Townshend. Having successfully produced seven solo CD's including 2012 album Looking Out Looking In, Simon also tours with The Who.

Tickets can be purchased at www.ValleyFirstTix.com, by phone at 1-8777-763-2849 or in person at the Valley First Box Office at the SOEC and Wine Country Visitor Centre.
