Search warrant turns up gun and drugs

Drugs and a handgun is what the Penticton RCMP drug task force found after executing a search warrant at a residence on Ellis Street.

On Wednesday, police entered the residence locating a loaded .22 caliber handgun, marijuana, crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, ammunition, currency, scales and other drug paraphernalia.

RCMP said a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both of Penticton, were arrested. Both of the individuals have been released from custody on conditions to attend a later court date. Charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of prohibited firearm with ammunition are being recommended against both individuals.
