Three Penticton residents face drug charges
Charges of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking were laid on three Penticton residents.
Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force officers stopped a vehicle on April 16 on Johnson Road with three occupants. Two of the people were released with no charges and Caitlin Schroeder was charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon. The 24-year-old was released from custody on bail to appear in court at a later date.
Two days later, Mounties stopped a vehicle in a parking lot in the 2100 block of Main Street that was occupied by a male and a female. Both were arrested and held in custody facing anticipated charges of trafficking and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. The 23-year-old male faces an additional charge of breach of probation and the 25-year-old female an additional charge for the possession of a prohibited weapon.
The pair were remanded into custody until April 22. Cpl. Brad Myhre said the duo have lengthy previous criminal records and the male was on probation for threatening two police officers.
