Summerland land swap public hearing scheduled.

A second public hearing concerning the proposed ALR land swap in Summerland is scheduled for April 22 at 7 p.m.

The hearing, slated for the gym at the Summerland Secondary School, provides an opportunity for residents to provide input into the proposed land swap involving 80 acres of farmland in the Agricultural Land Reserve and land in West Prairie Valley.

“This is our last chance to engage with council” said Erin Carlson, founder of Stop the Swap campaign, in a press release.

“We have a lot of alternatives to offer if they will listen. We don’t accept that our only option is to build on ALR land.”
