Dr. Peter Entwistle is an Independent candidate in the Boundary Similkameen riding

Black Press asked what is your position on the development of a national park or national park reserve in the South Okanagan to the Boundary-Similkameen candidates:

Peter Entwistle - Independent

As you are aware, I am not a professional politician and running as an independent candidate I am not bound by party policies or their backers, as our riding’s MLA I will be able to speak out and represent the views of those in our communities.

The issues that you describe in your pertinent questions really are symptoms of the broader problem, a lack of support and respect for rural communities and for their health and well being. Of course as part of maintaining not only the well-being of our communities we should be good and responsible custodians of our environment, it makes sense to have a National Park so long as it is done properly and provides real jobs. Maintaining, improving access to and modernizing of library services in rural B.C. is just one example of many where we can improve the well being of those in our communities by providing the tools to entertain, educate and develop new skills.
