A man who robbed a Penticton bylaw officer in broad daylight last summer has been sentenced to jail.
Credence Duncan was sentenced to four years in jail at Penticton provincial court Wednesday for a charge of robbery.
The West Kelowna man received credit for time served, reducing his sentence to three years and 99 days in jail.
Last August Penticton bylaw officer Ryan Lyon had been collecting money from parking meters on the 200 block of Winnipeg Street.
Lyon had been pushing the coin trolley used to collect the coins from the meters when Duncan approached him on a pedal bike.
Duncan used his bike to ram the coin trolley, knocking it over, before punching the officer in the face. He then carted away the trolley and pushed it down the alley before he tipped it back over trying to retrieve change from it.
A second bylaw officer nearby contacted police who then arrested Duncan.
