The Penticton Fire Department was called out to a structure fire in the Whitewater Mobile Home Park around midnight.

Deputy Fire Chief Dennis Smith said the structure was a vacant mobile home, located near Waterford Avenue and Paris Street, and the fire caused significant damage to the building.

“There had been a fire in there recently and because of that it had been boarded up but it caught fire again last night. We have completed an investigation there yet, but it is unusual,” said Smith.

No on was hurt in the fire and there wasn’t any damage to adjacent homes. Firefighters remained at the scene until 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
