“I believe that MP Rempel is travelling to various ridings throughout the country that she feels are really ready to turn to conservative,” said Konanz. “She’s excited, she’s heard about our team here and she’s excited to help make it happen.”

Rempel, seated as an opposition member, is the shadow minister for immigration, refugees and citizenship. She is a member of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and is vice-chair of the House of Commons standing committee on citizenship and immigration.

“I met her a few years ago when she came to the area, it was when the Conservatives were in power,” said Konanz. “I haven’t really talked to her much at all but I’m really impressed with what she has done.

“She’s very vocal about what’s happening in Alberta right now. I think that’s driving her even more to really work hard to get ready for the next election.”

This ticketed event will be held on Jan. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Great Estates Wine Experience Centre, located in the Lakeside Resort.

Tickets are available at cosnca.com/events and net proceeds will be split between the Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola Conservative Association and the South Okanagan-West Kootenay Conservative Association.
