Police have no suspects after a thief took off with a cash drawer from the Shell gas station on Fairview Road in a stolen car.
On Jan. 6 around 8:30 p.m. a man entered the store, jumped over the counter with a knife and demanded money and cartons of cigarettes, police said. He took the entire cash drawer running into a white Oldsmobile Cutlass with a driver waiting and the two took off.
The employee ran out of the gas station to flag down a passing motorist for help. Police said the employee did not get a good look at the driver.
Approximately $250 was taken and police are reviewing video surveillance as the investigation continues.
The man withe knife was described as a five-foot-six male wearing a black hoodie with a blue T-shirt underneath, black jeans, black shoes and black gloves, who covered his face with a black toque and scarf.
RCMP said another call came in later that evening advising an abandoned Oldsmobile on Granby Avenue, close to where the robbery occurred. The vehicle had recently been reported stolen. The Forensic Identification Section is currently investigating the vehicle.
