The lengthy COVID-19 outbreak at Village by the Station in Penticton is over nearly two months after it started.

The outbreak was first reported at the Village on Sept. 29 with 10 cases: eight residents and two staff.

Three residents who contracted COVID-19 died during the outbreak.

On Wednesday, Interior Health declared the outbreak over with 41 cases: 27 residents and 14 staff.

Haven Hill care centre had its outbreak declared over two weeks ago.

The outbreak at Haven Hill started Oct. 7 with two residents who tested positive.

By Oct. 21, the outbreak had topped out at 12 cases: 10 residents and two staff. Sadly, one resident death is connected to the outbreak.

Those two long-term care homes were the only recent outbreaks in Penticton.
