Propane tank explodes, witnesses report visible flames on Penticton’s Douglas Avenue

One individual was treated for burn injuries

The Penticton Fire Department was called to Douglas Avenue about 11:25 a.m. Friday (March 27), for reports of visible flames and an explosion.

Upon arrival crews reported a small propane tank had blown up behind a two-story residential structure.

There were no visible flames when they arrived.

EHS was called to assist an individual with burn injuries.

The fire department left the scene shortly after.
