A trial date has been set for two people charged in relation to the 2016 killing of David Delaney of Abbotsford.

Shayne Daniel Duncan McGenn, 34, and Sarah Margaret Sather, also 34, are set to go to trial on April 30, 2018 in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster.

McGenn has been charged with second-degree murder and Sather has been charged with accessory after the fact.

Delaney, 63, was discovered dead on Feb. 23, 2016in his fourth-floor suite in the Aspen Court apartment building on Center Street in Abbotsford. Court records indicate the date of the killing to be 16 days prior.

Investigators have not revealed Delaney’s cause of death nor have they indicated the circumstances surrounding the murder.

McGenn was arrested and charged in Penticton in May 2016, and Sather was also charged around that time.

In November 2016, McGenn faced further charges of robbery, disguising his face with intent to commit an offence, and using an imitation firearm in relation to an incident in May 2014 in Penticton.

Those charges are also still before the courts.
