Video: Vehicle fire being investigated as arson

Investigators have concluded a truck was intentionally set on fire Sunday

A car fire Sunday evening is being investigated by Penticton RCMP as arson.

The RCMP announced Tuesday that investigation by both their investigators and the Penticton Fire Department have confirmed the vehicle was intentionally set on fire.

At about 10:38 p.m. on July 23, emergency personnel received reports of a vehicle fire in the driveway of a residence in the 600 block of Victoria Drive in Penticton. They found a Ford F-150 pickup ablaze and were able to contain the fire to the vehicle and extinguish it before it could affect the nearby homes.

Once the fire was extinguished investigators examined the vehicle and were able to confirm that it was set ablaze and is now being treated as an arson.
