February 21, 1931 - June 9, 2016

We are extremely saddened to announce the passing of our mother and Baba, Helen Buzdegan. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Elson and Linda Buzdegan of Penticton, her son John Buzdegan of Edmonton, (grandchildren Caitlin, Brittany and Sean) and her daughter Pat Styles of Penticton, (grandchildren Kelly, Bailey and Bradley). She is also survived by two sisters. She was predeceased by John Buzdegan, her husband of 54 years. She was also predeceased by 8 brothers and 4 sisters. She was born and raised in Plain Lake, Alberta, the second youngest of 15 children. She married John and moved to BC where they raised 4 children. Mom loved to go dancing and she loved to sing. She was an exceptional baker and kept all of us in goods. Her faith was extremely important to her and she practiced daily. She loved her family and thoroughly enjoyed her six grandchildren attending any and all events that she could. She was “Baba” to not only her grandchildren but all of their friends as well. One of the most admirable qualities about our mother other than her selflessness was her “Can Do” attitude. As age crept up and certain activities became difficult she moved on to other activities. She never focused on what she couldn’t do she just found something else that she could do. Life is to live to the fullest and enjoy everything that God has to offer. We know that she has found new things that she Can Do on her new journey. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 1:00pm at St. Ann’s Church (1298 Main St. Penticton), everyone is welcome. Reception to follow. Father Wayne Pfliger officiating.
