Jack Harlock

February 25,1925 - September 29, 2017

Dad passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29 at Westview Place with his two daughters by his side.

He was predeceased by his wife, Paddy, in 2013.

A proud Air Force veteran, in 1958 he moved his family from the lushness of Vancouver to the 'stark, desert' of the West Bench (Mom's words!). They lived there until 2003, when Mom dragged him kicking and pouting to Cherry Lane Towers. In true Dad fashion, never wanting to let go of ANYTHING, we held many emotional garage sales and made numerous donations to various outlets before, during and after the BIG MOVE. Once they settled in, they BOTH enjoyed the condo lifestyle.

A salesman by trade, he travelled throughout BC, making long lasting friendships wherever he went . No one was ever a stranger for long.

He approached life with joy, enthusiasm and much gusto, from shooshing down the hills at Apex to water skiing at Farm Beach, riding a motorcycle and travelling to Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and cruises through the Panama Canal.

Dad was very definite in his thinking and very tenacious with his beliefs.

He was proud of his family and was happiest when surrounded by them.

After his stroke in October 2016, he became a resident of Westview Place North, where he was quickly embraced by all the staff.

We are so appreciative of all the love and kindness that he received during his time there.

Left to carry on his legacy are his two loving daughters, Julie (Pat) Laughton, grandson, Matthew and great grandchildren, Seth, Addison and Matea; Trudy (Jay) Mervyn, grandson Trevor (Clare) Mervyn, Erin (Shawn) Lawley and great granddaughter, Hailey Lawley.

You are invited to join the family for a small gathering on Thursday, October 12th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Everden Rust, 1130 Carmi Ave, Penticton.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Westview Place, Extended Care facility, 550 Carmi Avenue, Penticton, BC V2A 3G6.
