John Hudson

1947 - 2017

John, or Johnnie as he was sometimes referred to, passed away at Moog & Friends Hospice House on July 26, 2017. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Helen; his wonderful daughters: Tarie Rempel, Jennifer Harris and Christie Bork and their families; his sisters: Marilyn and Harry Vollick, Angela and Clive Sanderson and brother Ken Hudson and their families. Also fondly remembered by his “other” sisters and brothers: John and Colleen Seidl, Susan and Peter Evans, Art and Judy Seidl and Kay Meek and their families. John was born on February 9, 1947 in Orillia, Ontario, moved to Penticton in 1966 and has lived here ever since. John was a Mechanic by trade, he enjoyed fixing old cars and watching Nascar races. He even went to the Daytona 500 in 1996. John was employed by the School District as a Custodian from 1979 to 2007. He enjoyed working at Pen Hi, Queen’s Park and Princess Margaret. The “Snow Angel” of Burns Street has laid down his shovel and taken off his Cowboy Boots. His Family wishes to thank Drs. Leona & Jeff Harries and all the Hospital and Hospice House Staff for taking such good care of John. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Rex Velmonte officiating. If so desired donations can be made to Hospice House or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
