Jonn Lansel
August 1939 - October 20, 2017
We imagine Jonn is sitting on a deck, enjoying the sun, surveying his next landscaping challenge and toasting his friends and family with his signature martini.
Missing him are his wife of 51 years, Carollyne, his daughter, Jenafor (Mike); son Ross (Michelle); grandchildren, Julia, Charlotte and Cameron; sister, Mabel Carter and her sons, Blake (Diana), Anthony (Paula, Tomas (Elan) and Simon) and his sister-in-law, Marylou Leung and her family, Anthony (Kevin), Robert (Angeline, Curtis) Elise (Ryan) and Charles.
Born in Vancouver and a graduate of UBC, Jonn moved to Penticton in 1969 and from that moment on his goal was to recreate the Vancouver West Coast landscape in this semi-arid area. Building six houses and owning an orchard, Jonn has planted more trees, shrubs and flowers than a landscaping firm. His last project even included a five level waterfall.
Besides working as a Realtor, and Real Estate Appraiser, Jonn drove his children to countless lessons and was so often in the ice arena that one person asked him if he was the manager and he answered "No, I only live here!"
Jonn was the ultimate supporter of not only his children but all their friends and his extended family.
A celebration of life will take place on June 30, 2018 which was Jonn's favorite time of year.
