Karl Redl

October 19, 2017

After a battle with dementia, Karl Redl passed away peacefully at Penticton Hospital on October 19, 2017 with his family by his side.

Karl is survived by his loving wife Trudy of 66 years; his children: Edie, Herb (Julie); grandchildren: Lindsay (Lance), Lisa (Markus); great grandchildren: Sierra, Skyla, Austin, Livia and Elijah.

Karl immigrated from Vienna, Austria in 1956 with his family.

Karl enjoyed travelling with his wife to various destinations such as Vienna, Hungary, Australia, Fiji, Hawaii along with various cruises.  Winters at their residence in San Jose Del Cabo were a thrill for him where he enjoyed fishing, swimming and playing cards at poolside and evenings.

Summers were spent at their cabin in Sooke and home in Summerland where he enjoyed water activities and tending to his garden.  Karl took great pride in his orchard for many years. His many hours of volunteer work at the Summerland Yacht Club awarded him a life time membership there.

Karl's grandchildren and then great grandchildren gave him a tremendous amount of joy.

Join us for an open house celebration of life Saturday, October 28, 2017 (1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.) at Southwood Retirement Resort, 3475 Wilson Street, Penticton.
