Liontina Julia Raposo age 81, passed away peacefully with family at her side on June 28, 2017 at Moog & Friends Hospice House after a brief and sudden battle with cancer. Born on March 18, 1936 in Candelaria, Azores, Portugal she and her husband Joao (predeceased July 31, 1987) and family immigrated to Canada in 1971 and resided in Penticton, BC. She also joins her parents Manuel and Virginia Silva, daughter Diana, granddaughter Jessie, brother Manuel, and sister Luisa (Manuel). She is survived by her children Liberto (Robyn), Jose (Holly), Lucy (Mike), Lidia, Danny, Denise, and David (Jonathan). Grandchildren Cecelia, Justine, Tanya, Krista, Jessica, Brandon, Nathan, Cameron, Denaira and 6 great grandchildren. Nephew Joe and nieces Lydia (Manuel), and Lucy. As well as 2 great nieces and nephew. Liontina was a loving, caring and selfless mother who was devoted to her family and God. She cherished her time with her family, the Catholic community and her beautiful garden. Those she knew were constantly in her prayers and she truly wished happiness for all.
Prayer Service will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 361 Wade Avenue West, Penticton, BC on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Burial Lakeview Cemetery, 775 Lower Bench Road, Penticton, BC.
