Passed away peacefully on February 16, 2017 surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness. Lorne was born on July 5, 1930 in Penticton on Braid Street to parents Peter and Lydia Adams. He was the youngest of seven children and is predeceased by his parents and siblings Evelyn, Stanley, Bernice, Lila, Peter, Shelda, and his in-laws Ernie and Ellen Field and his oldest son Terry.

Lorne is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Joan (Hunter) and their children Debbie (Glenn), Cindy (Greg), Michael (Carla), Bruce (Tracy) and his daughter-in-law Barbara. Grandchildren Jeremy (Tanis), Scott (Sita), Amanda (Kyle), Abigail, Jeff (Bryna), Amanda, Melissa (Adam), Janel (Paul), Steven (Chanda) Jackson, Garrett, Julianna, Ava, Sara, Max and Milena. Also by fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lorne had a great sense of humor and was an accomplished storyteller - all enjoyed his tales from his early career with the CPR and KVR. He studied to become a general public accountant and later bought into a small accounting and customs brokerage business which he grew to include offices in Penticton and Osoyoos.

He enjoyed time spent together with their fantastic group of friends traveling, playing bocce, croquet, bridge and golf - or at events including champagne brunches and Christmas decorating parties. Lorne especially missed his morning coffee with the fellows (the Knowledge Network) when his health deteriorated.

Lorne (aka “Cookie”) was involved with his sons in Cubs and Scouts Canada and later helped many local charities as a member Rotary and the Gyro Club of Penticton. He was a fan of all sports.

A special thank you to all whom cared for Lorne at Penticton Regional Hospital and The Hamlets these last few months.

A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, March 4th 2017 starting at 2PM at The Penticton Golf & Country Club.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Penticton Regional Hospital via the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation.
