Williams Scott Henry

August 7, 1930 - May 27, 2017

Scott passed away peacefully on May 27, 2017 at Penticton Regional Hospital surrounded by family, at the age of 86 years. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his second wife Marlene (nee Wake), and children Marette (Eric Britton) of Surrey, BC; Aldeen Hess of Penticton, BC; Than (Bev) of Summerland, BC; and Blake (Jeanni) of Oliver, BC; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and siblings Don (Gloria) Williams of Penticton, BC; Betty (Jack) Lawson of Calgary, AB; and Shirley (Philip) Morgan of Penticton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Scott was predeceased by his first wife Doreen (nee Agnew), and his parents Warren and Ruby Williams.

During his lifetime in Penticton, Scott apprenticed as a sill and sash window-maker, but went on to work at Oliver Industries in the foundry, and then sales of irrigation equipment. He later worked for Okanagan Manufacturing in quality control, and then had his own business, Dor-cott Renovations.

Scott’s vast and varied hobbies and interests included a cherry orchard, square dancing (president of Square Dance Jamboree), wood carving (start-up of local carving club), and painting, and quilting (awards at guild shows). Community service included years as Boy Scout Master, a member of the Masonic Order, and 10 years with RCMP Auxiliary.

A family service will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 2 PM, at Everden Rust Funeral Home, 1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton with Rev. Sid Waterman officiating. Donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.
