Terry passed away on Tuesday, June 27 after a full and rewarding life of 87 years, 58 years of marriage to his wonderful wife Jean, 54 years as a fabulous dad, 39 years as a public school teacher, and 15 years as a proud grandpa. Terry grew up in London, and evacuated to Cumberland during WWII where he finished school, served in the R.A.F., trained as a teacher and began his teaching career. He emigrated to Canada in 1957 and taught in Athabasca and Round Hill, Alberta. In 1967 he moved with his young family to Penticton and taught at Queen’s Park School for 25 years before retiring in 1992. Over the years, Terry loved being involved in cross country skiing, badminton, bird watching, various church and community choirs, Gilbert and Sullivan, Penticton Tune-Agers, and everything British. He was so proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed being involved in their numerous activities. He will be sadly missed by Jean, Jen, Mary, Peter, Will, Claire, his wonderful grandsons Marcus and Oscar, and numerous other friends and family. A small family service will take place at home. Donations in his memory may be made to Queens Park School for their lunch program – 330 Power Street, Penticton V2A 5X2, or a charity of one’s choice.
