Victoria ”May”

May passed away at Haven Hill Retirement Centre March 6, 2015 at the age of 97.

May was born in Tyndall, Manitoba May 24, 1917, however at an early age she and her family relocated to the South Okanagan where she would spend the rest of her life.

In 1933 she married her lifelong partner, Harvey. They became active in the communities of Summerland, Kaleden and Penticton for many years, mainly in the fruit industry. During their retirement they travelled extensively, both locally and abroad.

They were long term members of the Baptist Church in both Kaleden and Penticton.

May is survived by sister, Eva Irene Millar; sister-in-law, Marge Johnstone; 3 sons, Melvin, Wayne (Trudy), Terry (Maureen); Daughter, Trudy (Gordon); 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by husband, Harvey in 2003; son, Ronald; great grandchild, Ryan; brother, Lloyd and brother-in-law, William Millar.

A memorial service will be held at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton on Thursday, March 12 at 1:00 p.m.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to Dr. John Surkan, and all of the nurses and care aides of Sun Village and Haven Hill- the excellent care was greatly appreciated by her and the family.
