Letter: Arts centre in valuable too

Appreciate how important a performing arts centre in Penticton would be for all ages

Regarding the letter to the editor in the Penticton Western News, March 3, Shame on you, on the performing arts centre.

Perhaps if the writer were to attend some of the many musical and theatrical events featuring young people (the Okanagan Youth Orchestra, student jazz group, community bands from throughout the valley, school plays, etc.), she would better appreciate how important a performing arts centre in Penticton would be for this particular demographic as well as their elders.

A youth centre would certainly be valuable for sure, but as the old saying goes, we do not live by bread alone.
