Did you know there is a Free Store right next to the Soupateria, in the foyer of St. Saviour’s Anglican Church Hall?

And did you know that the Free Store, located at 150 Orchard Ave., serves an average of 100 men and women each time it is open? This store provides bedding, towels, clothing, footwear and hats for free to those who are in need. We are open the second and third Friday each month, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The clientele is made up of a variety of people — folks between jobs, people with disabilities, people in low-paying jobs and others who just can’t stretch their budget enough to buy clothing or bedding.

All items in the store come from kind Penticton and area residents. All workers in the store are volunteers.

If you have clean, gently used clothing, bedding, towels or footwear that you no longer require, please drop off items to the church office, Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. to noon. Or on Sundays, drop them in the foyer of St. Saviour’s Church between 7:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

If you would like to volunteer, request a pick-up for donations, or learn more about the Free Store, please call the Church office and leave a message. 250-492-4325.

We have an acute shortage of men’s shoes, runners and boots. All donations are gratefully received.
