The Salvation Army will have a float in the Peachfest parade this Saturday. Volunteers will be collecting canned food and dry good items like pasta for the food bank. Anyone who wishes to donate by check will receive an income tax receipt in the mail.
Every year at this time the food bank shelves are bare and people in need go without. We forget that when summer comes the need of the disabled, the poor and many children is just as great. Many of these people also have pets so pet food would also be welcome. Please bring a couple of food items from your pantry to donate to the food bank when you see the Salvation Army float at the parade this year.
