Ignoring the drug use
I really appreciate the Penticton Western News and our Mayor Jakubeit having his own column in the paper, however, I don’t think our mayor reads letters to the editor.
If he did, and Supt. de Jager also did, they would realize that drugs, and the City of Penticton and its local RCMP detachments willfully ignoring this rampant drug use, is by far the number one cause of crime.
I live beside a City of Penticton owned drug house that was in business for almost four years. The city said they were evicted in June, with new locks, but the place is as disgusting as ever — still vehicles parked in the yard and some of the renters still come and go.
There is something very cancerous growing in the city that comes with the drug trade. City hall and Mr. de Jager’s RCMP do not look innocent to me.
