Letter: No excuse for Penticton polling problems

Hopefully some serious thought and plans will be made this time around

To add to recent letters to the editor regarding the excessive wait times and line-ups during the 2014 election — the problem seems to have stemmed from the fact that insufficient polling stations and/or registration stations were available within the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

There was certainly lots of voting space, but lack of extra staff and stations resulted in the long line-ups and wait times. It would have been a simple and economical plan to have extra staff and stations available if needed. Hopefully some serious thought and plans will be made this time around. There cannot be any excuse for a repeat of the problems in 2014.
