LETTER: Penticton's campaign of hope

$16,942.10 was donated by the generous residents of the South Okanagan to the Canadian Cancer Daffodil Campaign.

April is always a very busy month with the many Canadian Cancer Daffodil Campaigns organized by volunteers throughout the city.

This year was somewhat of an exception for our door-to-door campaign. No one from the regional office in Kelowna was available to organize this campaign  but two terrific new volunteer organizers, Gwen Watson and Marie Tebbutt, along with experienced help from Jean Corrie delivered a very successful campaign with short notice.

Together with past as well as new canvassers and Penticton Royalty,  $16,942.10 was donated by the generous members of our community who know the importance of research, support, prevention and hope for people diagnosed with cancer.

The canvassers were also greatly aided by the technical expertise of Eric Kutschera, another volunteer.

We sincerely thank them.

Together with daffodil pin donations which were reported earlier, our community donated over $24,400.

Thank you, Penticton and area.
