Columnist Tom Fletcher (Penticton Western News, Oct. 18, Salmon farm smear campaign sinks) claimed that the fish farming industry is interested in “rapidly evolving technology” to make fish farms more secure.

He mentions as an example Norway’s plans based on a 1987 “landmark” study of sustainable development. Since the Norwegians are only now following up on that study of 30 years ago, it seems a poor example of so-called rapidly evolving research.
