Society picks up steam
The Kettle Valley Steam Railway provided the train and friendly volunteer staff for the second annual charity train ride on May 22. Reservations were required and the train was sold out. People came from far and wide (Powell River and Chilliwack to name a couple of places) and enjoyed a wonderful train ride for a donation to Agur Lake Camp Society.
Thank you to everybody who contributed to the success of this ride. Funds raised, the total will be announced when it’s all been counted, will be used to create the camp 20 kilometres west of Summerland. The camp’s mandate is to create a barrier-free wilderness camp and recreation area for special needs children and others and their families. For up-to-date information on the camp’s progress please check out the website: www.agurlakecamp.ca. Thank you everybody for helping to make it happen.
