Do the good people of Penticton think a prison is going to be a great help to the community? It’s not a holiday camp. When the inmates are released, will they go back to whence they came from? No. Most will take up residency in Penticton, good weather, why would one move out?
Can anyone say that the inmates will be bused home? The jobs will go to staff already employed in the system, no new jobs will be created in this town. I see negatives in all aspects on this foolish endeavor. One can only hope in logical thinking from City Hall and council, but history tells us different.
