Selects team nets big win

The South Okanagan Selects cruised to a 7-1 win against the B.C. Interior Selects from Kelowna at the OHS rink.

The Selects had a solid defensive performance and a balanced scoring attack with two-goal efforts by Brenden Patton, Mike Zarikoff, Hayden Fidanza, Nolan Walton, Colby Sorensen and Cam Davie each chipped in two assists.   Sharing the victory in net was Robbie Paialunga and Caleb Rousseau.

SOS participated in the BCIS Valley Cup during Easter weekend in West Kelowna, making it to the championship final only to come up short, losing 3-2 to the Kelowna Heat. The Selects are now headed to the Alberta Champions Cup in Edmonton this weekend to face teams from throughout the country and will also be attending the Kelowna Heat Tournament May 5 to 7 and The Challenge Cup in Vancouver during May long weekend.

SOS is a spring hockey program based out of Penticton for players born in 2001.  Players are from Penticton, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Kamloops, Merritt and as far away as Nelson.  SOS aims to provide an opportunity for players with the skill, commitment and desire to develop at a higher level while learning valuable life skills and have an enjoyable overall experience.  For more on the team, check www.southokanaganselects.com.
