Eibner wins Summerland golf championship

Val Eibner claims Summerland championship, Penticton senior men battle for crown

Val Eibner won the Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club championship with a score of 175 on July 25.

Eibner’s result was four shots better than Vijai Vaagen.

The first flight low gross and low net winners were Carol Mulligan and Marilyn Tamblyn, respectively. Second flight winners were Gwen Redfern and Lanette Graham. The low net winner was Francis Colussi. The third flight winner was Helen Benallick and Lynne Karaim.

Tied in Penticton senior men’s championship

Bill Stevenson and Jim O’Neill are tied after the first round in the Penticton senior mens club championship after carding 71 on Wednesday. Bud Kadin leads the B flight by two with 82. Chris Cottrill leads the C flight by two with 84. Greg McWilliams leads the D flight by nine at 87. The second and final round will be played next Wednesday.
