Former Laker helping Wildcats golf team

Haley Hewer placed 18th at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Las Vegas, N.V. on March 11.

Hewer, a Pen High grad, opened the spring season with the Northern Michigan Wildcats women’s golf team by shooting 74-75-82.

The Wildcats’ first tournament was Sept. 10 to 11, which they won. At the Northwood Invitational held Oct. 3 to 4 in Midland, Mich., the Wildcats finished third. At Whistling Straits in Wisconsin Oct 18-19 they finished fourth. Hewer, who is studying management of health and fitness, tied for 13th with scores of 85 and 83.

The Wildcats return to action in the NC4K College Classic April 2 to 3. in Blacklick, Ohio.
