McClure hattrick leads Vees past Cowichan Valley

Brade McClure potted three goals to lead the Penticton Vees past the Cowichan Valley Capital 3-0. McClure's game winning goal came on the power play at 12:38 on a play set up by Sam Mellor and Wade Murphy. Ryan Gropp assisted on McClure's other two goals. Vees goalie Nic Renyard made 17 saves for the shutout in Cowichan's Island Savings Centre.

The Vees opened their road trip with a 3-2 double overtime loss to the Victoria Grizzles, who have former Vees Stefan Nicholishen, D.J. Jones, Zach Urban and Mark McLellan.
