Dan Ashton was born in Edmonton, Alberta, but his family moved to South Okanagan only two weeks later, where he later attended Summerland Secondary School, followed by a stint at Eastern Washington University.
The Ashton family owned and operated Ashtonâs Ladies Wear, with locations in the Okanagan, Kootenays, and the Lower Mainland.
Dan Ashton is currently in his fifth term on the City of Penticton council â his second as mayor â and also holds the position of chair of the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen.
