There is one fewer restaurant in Penticton.

Carl's Jr. has closed its doors on the corner of Main Street and Industrial Avenue.

"We confirm that our franchisee, Jove Franchise Development Corporation, has closed its three restaurants in Okanagan — the Vernon, Penticton and Kamloops locations," states CKE Restaurants Holdings, the Carpinteria, Calif. based parent company of Carl's Jr.

"Their fourth restaurant in Kelowna remains open."

When asked why the three restaurants are closing, CKE would not provide further comment.

In 2011, Jove opened Canada’s first Carl’s Jr. in Kelowna, and that was followed by Vernon and Kamloops. The Penticton restaurant opened in 2013.

No one from Jove Development could be reached for comment.
