The Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce is on the hunt for a new executive director.

On Thursday morning the chamber announced that executive director Brandy Maslowski has resigned. She is moving to a position at the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen as the emergency services supervisor. Prior to moving to the Okanagan, Maslowski had worked with the Winnipeg fire service for 15 years.

“She will stay on with us here until Aug. 21 so that gives us some time to figure out what she was working on and get the word out and hopefully we will be well on our way to find someone new,” said Neil Wyper, president of the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce. “It will be a challenge but it is part of business. She found a new job and is excited about it so we are excited for her.”

Maslowski was the chamber events and communications director, but after general manager John Devitt left in 2015 she was appointed to the position of executive director. Maslowski said she believes it will be a smooth transition when the new executive director is hired.

“I think the chamber is in good order right now. The key is that they have an amazing team and we worked hard for two years to get processes in order and systems in place. The chamber is really blossoming right now. The board is also excellent and with a good board and good staff you can’t go wrong,” she said.

The chamber said they will immediately begin searching for a new executive director.
