Mother Nature isn’t eager to hit the slopes at Big White.

The ski resort east of Kelowna has pushed back their opening day due to a lack of snow.

The resort was originally set to open for the winter on Nov. 23, but with only 12 centimetres of snowfall in the last week there isn’t much “champagne powder” to ride on.

The weather forecast doesn’t look hopeful either. The mountain is expected to get trace amounts of snow Nov. 22, with a mix of sun and cloud throughout the week.

A tentative opening day has been set for Nov. 30, but the date could change if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
