Osoyoos Credit Union is distributing $75,000 to the Osoyoos community in celebration of its 75th anniversary.

The financial institution is increasing its Community Giving Fund by contributing an additional $25,000 as part of their 75th birthday celebration, coinciding with the town of Osoyoos celebrating 75 years.

The fund traditionally awards $50,000 in the form of grants, but because the financial institution is celebrating 75 years in Osoyoos, the credit union is commemorating this anniversary through awarding an additional $25k to help those in need.

Founded in 2017, the Community Giving Fund was created to support local non-profit organizations and community groups with projects and initiatives. These projects focus on economic revitalization and improved quality of life, while also breaking down barriers in order to help families achieve economic success and enhanced quality of life.

Since its inception, the Community Giving Fund has awarded 45 grants to local organizations.

“This is a major milestone. We want our members and our community to know we’ve been here for 75 years and we’re committed to the next 75 and beyond. The increase to our Community Giving Fund is just one of the ways we’re sharing our success with the community,” said Greg Sol, chief executive officer at the credit union.

Founded in 1946, the credit union has provided an array of financial services for 75 years. The credit union prides itself on keeping their doors open to help their local membership.

Osoyoos Credit Union continues to grow as well. A new location opened in Rock Creek recently that will offer all the same services Osoyoos Credit Union is known for.
