Penticton beers strike gold at BC Beer Awards

Cannery, Tin Whistle, Abandoned Rail and Slackwater Brewing take top spots

Penticton’s craft beer scene struck gold this weekend at the BC Beer Awards in Vancouver.

Cannery Brewing won gold for their Thornless Blackberry Porter against 45 entries.

Tin Whistle won first place for their One Piece Wonder in the spice beer category that saw 29 entires.

Abandoned Rail Brewing Co won gold for their Marzen - an amber lager.

Slackwater stood out for several design elements taking best tap handle design and best packaging design.

There were 121 B.C. breweries with 1,000 entries over 31 categories for the 11th annual BC Beer Awards.
