To celebrate Penticton-based RPR Heating and Air Condition and Ideal Energy Solutions’ upcoming partnership, they are giving away 100 free turkey dinners in Penticton and 100 more in Princeton.
They are hoping to bring a Christmas meal to families and individuals who could use a turkey dinner with all the fixings this holiday.
For the pick-up turkey dinners in Penticton go to 300 Warren Ave. E from 10 to noon on Saturday, Dec. 18. In Princeton, the dinners can be picked up at 209 Bridge Street from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
It will be a first-come, first-serve while supplies last, said Peter Verge of Ideal Energy.
“We ordered all the food from IGA quite a while ago so thankfully we beat the shortage. IGA has been extremely helpful and provided us with everything we need to ensure we can provide full dinners.”
“We are supplying all the ingredients people need a week before the holidays so they have them for a nice Christmas dinner,” he added.
Since announcing this earlier this week, the response has been wonderful from the community, Verge said.
“I’ve also had quite a few people from both cities email and call. Many have had a challenging year and are very grateful. Princeton in particular has been hit hard with all the flooding and there is a lot of interest and excitement from that community. Both RPR and Ideal Energy are so honoured to be able to give back to the South Okanagan and Similkameen.”
As of Jan. 1, 2022, Ideal Energy Solutions and RPR Heating and Air Conditioning will be under one umbrella. The merged company will operate as RPR Heating and Air Conditioning Ltd. and have an office in Princeton too.
“We’ve been wanting to expand outside of the area and the first order of business in this partnership is to open an office in Princeton and serve the wonderful people of the Similkameen. Princeton and area has been through so much recently and we want to be there to support them” said Terry Olfert co-owner of RPR.
One value that has brought these two companies together is giving back to the community, said Steve Dahl, co-owner of RPR (previously Ideal).
The Penticton giveaway will be at the current Ideal Energy office at 300 Warren Ave. E from 10 to noon.
“Then we’ll head up to our new office in Princeton Santa- style to hand out turkey dinners for another 100 families in need of a great Christmas meal,” said Dahl.
