The Penticton and District Community Arts Council has turned into Santa’s workshop to craft over 200 creative art packs for the community.

The PDCAC will also be delivering copies of their Holiday Cheer colouring book to organizations and groups in Penticton and across the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen.

The colouring book features illustrations created by local artists of all ages.

“We wanted to do something extra special for seniors and children in our community this year and reached out to SpeedPro Penticton for getting a limited print run of the Holiday Cheer Coloring Book. Local artists created some stellar colouring pages that will be a lot of fun to fill in,” said Penticton Arts Council administrator Bethany Handfield.

Downloadable print versions of the Holiday Cheer colouring book are available for free on the Penticton Arts Council’s website.

The arts council is on track to deliver over 200 art packs before the holidays with another hundred set to go out in the early new year.

The art packs and colouring books are one of the ways the PDCAC is supporting the community during a difficult winter.

“It is our goal, in partnership with local service providers, to try and provide uplifting creative experiences for those who may be facing difficulties,” said Handfield. “The need from community outstrips our ability to deliver, but we are doing our best to reach as many people as we can.”

Through the Arts Matter Program on their PDCAC website, you can also experience performances, workshops, and more colouring pages – all created by amazing artists from the community.
