The  BC Volunteer Firefighters Spring Training Seminar was held in Oliver on May 14. Volunteer firefighters from across British Columbia came for a weekend of practical skills training that leaves much of the theoretical work in their home departments.

Every second year, the Oliver Fire Department's (OFD) experience and history of exceptional training standards is partnered with various organizations including Fortis BC, RCMP and many other fire rescue training companies.  These partnerships ensure the most up-to-date equipment and training is available to attending firefighters.

FortisBC has been supporting the Oliver Fire Department Spring Seminar for a many years and works closely with volunteer fire departments throughout the province, including the Oliver Fire Department, in an effort to provide first responders with the most up to date training for emergency situations involving natural gas or electricity.
