An annual summertime tradition is set to help residents beat the heat next week in the Peach City.

The Great Water Fight returns to Penticton Secondary's sports field on Tuesday, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Local firefighters are challenging community members to the "ultimate water fight," as they bring their fire hose and truck.

Residents are invited to bring water pistols and other spray toys, the city said.

Spare water guns will be made available, they added.

The event welcomed hundreds of families and several members of the Penticton Fire Department in July 2023.

If the fire department is called away, the water fight will be rescheduled.
