EllisDon Corporation has stepped forward as the title sponsor for the Canada Day fireworks display on Okanagan Lake Park.

“EllisDon was recently awarded the new Penticton Regional Hospital expansion and so saw this as a great opportunity to participate in their new community. We could not be happier to have them on board,” said Kerri Milton, executive director of the Downtown Penticton Association. “This year, the Canada Day Fireworks will be shot off a barge in Okanagan Lake, so they will be visible from anywhere along the lake.”

The fireworks funding campaign has currently raised over $15,000 towards the nation’s birthday celebration on July 1.

“EllisDon is delighted to be a part of this exciting sponsorship for the Canada Day fireworks celebration on Lake Okanagan. Both the Downtown Penticton Association and the community have made a fantastic effort in fundraising and we are proud to contribute to this event,” said Don Quon, vice-president in-charge of the Penticton Regional Hospital Patient Care Tower Project. “We also see this as an opportunity to celebrate our new relationship with the Penticton community as we embark on our new venture: the expansion at the Penticton Regional Hospital. EllisDon is looking forward to building lasting relationships and helping deliver effective patient care to the South Okanagan community for years to come.”

The Canada Day celebration will have non-stop entertainment for the whole family including music, food vendors, bouncy castles and the fireworks at dusk.

“We have had such an eclectic and amazing group of businesses and individuals step forward to donate,” said Milton.
