COBS Bread is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Penticton by giving back to the community.

On Monday, June 24, Penticton residents are invited to the Riverside Village Block party, immediately in front of the COBS store from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be a sandwich making competition at noon, judged by Mayor John Vassilaki, followed by a by-donation barbecue with all proceeds going to the local branch of Kids in Camp, an organization that sends children to summer camp.

“The words feed the family has always been something in the back of my mind since I was a kid. My wife Nicole and I are very proud to be here in Penticton, now raising our own family and feeding this community that in turn has been so good to us over the past 10 years,” said bakery owner and operator, Jasel Peters.

The company also said it wants to thank both T-Bone’s and Quality Greens in Penticton for partnering with COBS on this event.

COBS announced that HooDoo Adventure Co. and Youth Outdoor Recreation Society wil receive 100 per cent of the money raised from this fundraiser. Mike and Lyndie Hill from Hoodoo Adventures will also be attending the event.

Peters and his wife, Nicole, are the family team behind COBS Penticton, and own the Kelowna COBS and Vernon COBS bakery as well.
